It is never too late

Who out there as a life long smoker uses the excuse not to stop "that the damage is already done"? Rubbish! I was at school with Sir Richard Doll's kids. Richard Doll did the original work, and the definitive connection between smoking and lung cancer. He was a great guy, and talked about his work to us much. What he did say that, firstly and anecdotally, on noting the definitve link, he stopped himself - at 42, I think. He died at about 92, only about 10 years ago. Secondly, and much more scientifically, he noted that, while there is always a slightly raised risk from being an ex-smoker, the risk drops away hugely on stopping. To be fair, the residual risk does increase with years of smoking, but it is still far less than continuing. SO STOP! I did.

Well good for you! Go to your Google box and type in Sir Richard Doll - go to his work and judge for yourself! Good luck, and NEVER forget, you can NEVER have that one; NEVER! Rob
