I didn't find it very easy to quit at the start. Smoking for quite a while, all the while believing that I actually enjoyed smoking, that even if I didn't, I did not have the willpower to quit. I got nagged by alot of people (Reformed Smokers) and kept being told that I stunk. I finally made the choice and tried to go cold turkey. It did NOT work. The cravings are one thing, but the awful headaches are much, much worse. So I tried the mints, and they were so busy burning the crap out of my mouth and making me feel sick, that I dont think they actually had time to help me quit smoking, and the cravings just would not stop, eventually, the headaches came back. So I saw the doctor.

She prescribed Champix. She explained the awful side effects, (and they are awful) and told me how to use it. I picked my quit date and marked it on the Champix pack. On the Champix, i quit DAYS before my quit date. I didn't feel like a cigarette within 3 days of starting the champix, the side effects helped too, feeling very nauseous gave me more encouragement to quit smoking so that I could quit taking the champix and therefore not feel nausious anymore.

I found it very easy to quit on champix, and i believe that if you genuinely want to quit, this WILL work for you. Spend time doing other things, that you enjoy, take up your time playing games on your computer, or reading a book. Try not to replace the smokes with food, you dont need to, you arent hungry, you are just looking for something to do with your hands (which is why i found computer games very helpful.)

Good luck! I know it is hard, and at times, you may feel like you just can't do it, but stick to it. If I can do it, So can you!
