Hi Kaycie. Firstly good on you for even trying to give up. The fact that you have done it before for 5 months shows that you do have the willpower to do it. Unfortunately sometimes stressful times come up in our lives & the first thing we do is look for a way to ease the burden. As Gam says it really only makes you feel worse.

Currently I am also avoiding alcohol as in the past I always caved in after a few drinks. But each to there own there. It can be sometimes too much to bear trying to give up everything at once.

I am by no means preaching on the ways to give up as I have only been going since new years eve & have tried & failed many times to give up. This time though I think I was ready mentally to give up. I was sick of waking up with a whistle in my chest & feeling like rubbish. I also have 3 young daughters who I'm sure want to see their dad grow old.

Just don't put to much pressure on yourself. Take it 1 day at a time & before you know it those days will be turning into months. You can do it.
