I am on Fire - But in a Good Non Smoking Way
I am SO proud of myself it is unbelievable and I am SO going to make it in life as a non smoker. Day 33 and feeling fabulous. The reason? Yesterday was Melbourne Cup day - old Winner here had an annual leave day and went to Randwick and well races, cup day, starting with a champagne breakfast etc. Did not smoke - did not even get a craving.
First time since I have quit that I have been out and about and had a drink and not had to leave early due to thinking I might smoke. I saw smokers at the races, heaps of them. I could smell cigarettes a LOT, I just looked at the people having them and thought poor you completely at the beck and call of the evil things well that is not for me.
SO, anyone that is in the early days of quitting and thinks it does not get easier (I so did not beleiev it ever would get easier) trust me it does. It is not just words, it truly does get easier. I know I will still have times where I get the urge for a ciggie but I wont be having one. Did not get past the one month mark only to go back to those hideous first couple of weeks.
I am just so excited, and have to say the BIGGEST thank you to Tiger, Jo, Fire God, Violet, Jo C, Blu Suzi, Eric, Kathy Rose anyone on here that has been of more help than you know. There were days where I would post just to get thoughts out of my head and to have my hands busy! And you all said keep going you can do it. And after yesterday I firmly believe I can do it. I always knew I could and wanted to do it. Seeing dad was the clincher - but I was never sure I beleived I could do it especially when in a tempting situation - but yesterday I threw myself into the path of danger and came out a winner and smelling of roses and opposed to cigarette smoke. And you know what else, I backed the winner of the cup!
Keep going all, life without smokes is going to be glorious for us all.

hey there champ. you are awesome! i can't believe how well you have done - well i can but you are loving life hey! the getting out socially and realising you can do it with out cigs is the best bit. I thing that you are a superstar and I know that you have it beat now. No more cigs for everyone!!!!!! YAY
