What an absolutely winning feeling it is when i go to the local grocery store and walk right past the store that use to drag me in each day!

The leash is broken however we must be reminded that this journey, as life,  is a day to day experience and we must remain focused and keep the sentry on 24 hour look out.

Last night i woke up with a mixed feeling of either i had had a cigarette or felt like having one, the bastard came knocking but i never let him in and slammed the door SHUT....

I have spoken to many former smokers who have reported cravings or even vivid dreams of smoking after decades of quiting, that's the frightening part, the good news is, apparently these ocurr very infrequently and last just seconds.

We quiters of this debilitating addiction must not become complacent and be grateful for each and every clean day we share!

Well done, and if any of us have slipped, dont beat youself up be proud and get back on the wagon to freedom.

Always great to hear from you rocky-rush. You are truly inspirational & I thank you for that. 50 days free!!!! That's wonderful. You sound like you are really enjoying life. I remember my Dad mentioning he had the odd desire to light up 10yrs after he quit. It was nothing major just that it was there from time to time. I can now understand it and am aware the feeling will raise it's ugly head for a long time to come. I am enjoying this free, clean feeling non smokers have always enjoyed & will never go back. Life's too good! Thanks for your post.

Rocky Rush how amazing are you!!! 50 days and going strong!

They say once an addict always an addict so yes we all have to continue to stand guard against the pull of the habit!!

I guess we have to give our dreams the same amount of time we smoked not smoking to actually get the point that we are non smokers!!!!

Keep living the good life mate!!!

Eric, feel free to burden me at least. Through my long journey through depression I learned that one of the best gifts that one can have is someone who will listen to you in a non-judgemental way. I might not be of much help, but I won't jump down your throat (I am showing my age!. Feel free to unburden yourself. And having shared your burden you will feel that little bit better.

My yoke is easy and my burden is light.

Best wishes.
