Staying strong when cravings hit

It has only been 2 days now since I "stopped smoking"... I was smoking around 8 a day throughout the week and then up to 15 - 20 on weekends if I was drinking. This has been going on for about 12 years now and two weeks ago I decided that I have had enough. In November last year I proposed to my girlfriend and we are planning to get married in Fiji in mid 2012. I worked out that if I stop smoking now I could have just over $4,000.00 saved that can go towards our wedding, honeymoon... or bucks party...haha. I have even stopped having my beer in the afternoons and that is more money I am saving... All I can do now is keep thinking of the positives that have come from my decision.

I know I am in the very early stages, but I know that keeping busy and thinking positively will see me through the hard times. Knowing that I have the support of my non-smoking partner is a great help too.

To everyone who is planning to... or has quit good luck and stay strong. Not smoking... even for only two day has made me proud of myself again.

Still have not had a cigarette and it is day 8 for me, Cold turkey has been the best thing for me I think... keeping positive and strong minded is the one thing that I have found gets me through the tough times...

Greek Islands sounds nice, good luck with your journey! I am definately not going back to Cigarettes now... love not having to go out side for a smoke... and I have definately got my sence of smell back too... I was around a friend last night that still smokes and dame he smelt...hahaha.

Anyway, all the best and good luck
