schedule 28 Dec 2010

i'm a 31yo single mum with 2 kids and have tried numerous times to try to quit but stress is my main trigger, which is being a single mum with 2 small children which can be stressful at times and also dealing with the ex-husband. i have decided it is now the time to quit and quit for good, my main reasons is health i want to be able to put on weight, and lately have noticed that when reading to the kids i get short of breath after a line or 2. also the cost and for my kids. my d-day is the 3rd of Jan as my kids go to their father on the 1st for a week and thought this is perfect time to do it as i will be at home by myself and can stay away from my friends that smoke by keeping myself busy with housework and hobbies. (which i should get it all done - finally)

i dont smoke too much about 10 a day, a bit more if with friends who smoke

i'm feeling positive that i can do it this time, i havent told my friends as they all smoke, so will be easier just to tell them after i am smoke free for a week. once i get past 3 days i will be fine cos thats where i have had problems before, i could never get past 3 days. i am staying positive about it and i believe thats the best way to do it

stay positive!!!!!!

Hey kel379,

The hardest bit is the first day, use patches, they work, then when you feel like a smoke, have a glass of water or biscuit, you only need to resist for about 10 - 20 seconds. the craving WILL pass, think of benefits. good luck, hopefully you can say I'm NOT a smoker for 2 days now. Think Positive!!!
