First Day

My quit journey began by feeling sick with the flu, wife left me 3 smokes in a packet so that if I wanted more, i would have to drive to shops. I have been a smoker for over 25 yrs.
I had wanted to quit for some time, main reasons, Health and costs. I would go to bed and could hear myself weazing whilst breathing, not good. So the seed had been strong for a while. Smoked the 3 smokes, then said aloud, enough, and put patch on.
I had some 16 mg patches laying around the house that i wacked on which did take the edge off. The first day was a little bit hard, patches helped for sure, wife came home and was still smoking, outside. It did not bother me at all. second day little bit harder, but kept busy, craving only lasts about 10- 20 secs, . got through first week on patches, second week until now no patches at all. feel heaps better, weazing stopped so must be worth it. Still feel like one at certain times, but stay strong and say to yourself, I am not a smoker.
Some people talk of temptations, ie going out with friends that smoke. I did the first week with my mates, we used to smoke 1 after the other when we were drinking, Did not bother me in the slightest, actually the smell on their clothes stunk, the smell of the smoke was fine, its the smell when someone goes outside then comes in and walks past, you dont realise how bad you actually stink til you quit.
