My last cigarette gave me the motivation I need

Today was my last light up. I anticipated a dopamine boost - adrenaline surge - nicotine high - heartrate & blood pressure increase - all the feel goodish stuff that comes with lighting up after a time without. Varenicline works - I got NOTHING, but a filthy taste in my mouth., Today I had the most unsatisfying cigarette of my life :) so they can go. I'm so happy I lit up today.

I’m a bit late seeing this, but I’m really glad I did. That sounds like such a powerful moment - expecting the usual things and realising it wasn't the same. It’s really interesting to hear how varenicline worked for you. Hope you're still going strong!

So sorry in the delay of answering.  I am very disappointed that anyone needs to wait almost 2 weeks for a reply from 1 of 3 moderators.   These days, after 5 years of daily participation, and very little response from others, I will leave it to them.  My stories and thoughts are still available to perhaps gleen some insights and general encouragement.

Good on you for your positive thinking and determination.

Shame, shame on the moderators!

It would be sad to see you go @Happiness - but thanks for everything you’ve given to the iCanQuit community over the years.

As a newcomer myself, it didn't take me long to spot how much your support and insights have meant a lot to many people here. Your advice and encouragement are still really valued and we in the new team genuinely appreciate the time and care you’ve put into helping others.

If you do choose to go, all the best and thank you again.
