Day one

Hi all
I am halfway through day one of no smoking. I've been reading the posts & people who are succeeding on their quit journey & they are all very motivating!
I'm really into mindfulness, so this morning I observed the addiction part of my brain was trying to rationalise with the rational part of my brain to just buy 1 packet of cigarettes & have 1 at the end of my day only. I told myself it would be better than the 10-15 I've been smoking a day. I managed to talk myself out of doing that. I know if I have cigarettes in my apartment I'll find excuses to smoke them. I know all my trigger points of the day & am using NRT lozenges.
I will continue to read the experiences shared here for motivation.
Wish me luck 🙏

Hi Amelia. Thanks for posting.,I’m on day 7 today & am finding it’s a bit easier this morning. Each day is a great achievement so keep going & keep posting.

Well done on starting the journey. I started sometime back, listened to the “just 1 won’t harm” story my mind was telling after a few successful months. That just dragged me back to the habit and I gave up giving up. Starting the journey again today. So far, so good. I am a less than 5 a day smoker. So my problem is less about physical cravings and more about the mind.
I will try the mindfulness methods you are attempting.
But if there’s one advice from my previous failed attempt, not even a single one pls
