Keeping motivated. I made the decision to quit 1 hour ago and I am sharing a post to help me stay motivated. The best way for me to really commit is by writing down and saying out loud “I have quit smoking”. I quit for 6 months back in 2022 and had a “one off” smoke on my birthday….. safe to say there’s no such thing as a “one off”. Today I have the mindset to quit and I am going to take full advantage it. I commit to quitting smoking and I will not fall for the “one off”, no matter how long I go without smoking. 04 August 2024 will forever be the day I quit.

Good for you for choosing a better and healthier lifestyle. It is unfortunate thiat you learned NOPE the hard way. I am sure that if you quit once for a period of time then you can do it again. So many fear the unknown and quitting smoking, still no one would take it up again as a "choice". We are human, and we can slip up. We can also choose how we want to live.

Yes, I agree with Happiness that we can also choose how we want to live. This can be achieved and cigarettes given the flick for good. Cravings can be tough but if you do self-talk which is positive and self-empowering, they can be overcome, in the moment. Try some deep breaths and some iced non-alcoholic beverage, I used a cold glass of pineapple juice in my craving, which I have posted about. Maybe try a 10 minute breathing meditation there are plenty to choose from on youtube, or you could try a guided meditation there. Anything to be present and non-judging in the moment-to-moment.
