Just quitting

Just starting to cut down daily cigarettes to hopefully stay off starting Monday. I was a smoker for 15 years and quit for 5 years. Just started back again within the last year. I’m not sure why as I know how hard it is to quit. So disappointed in myself. I think Covid and my divorce brought it on. I hate the smell of it and sometimes makes me sick.
I will be using patches to help me along. If I slip up and end up smoking, I won’t be too hard on myself and continue on. Not easy! Wish me luck!

I know how you feel stress makes me want to smoke but I resisted getting smokes I’ve been smoke free for over a month now you can do it I’ve saved over 470 dollars good luck on quitting you can do it

Hi how are you going with your quit attempt? Stress is why most ppl take it back up I think. There is something about smoking which appears to relieve stress but it’s a very temporary fix to the problem. Nicotine is been proven to raise dopamine levels at the time but exercise like walking and swimming and cycling will raise the endorphins which are much longer lasting.
I’m pretty sure that I’m correct in saying all that you can google it to check and do some research.

Correction... endorphins help to release dopamine naturally through exercise and they have a wide range of health benefits.
