The biggest thing for me that changed my mindset was the feeling of freedom from smoking after being addicted for over 35 years. I’m still getting a craving here and there but I just breathe through it and remind myself why I’m doing this. It also helps to think of things you can be doing instead of smoking. Just think about it for what it really is it’s inhaling lots of toxic fumes into your body try to change the associations you have with it and break down the attachment and this will change your mindset it will take time do a 10 minute meditation at the hardest times and ask yourself why do I want to smoke right now and let yourself just breathe. Hope that helps a bit.

Two things that helped me after many unsuccessful tries which can help you too: 1) Start telling yourself that you're no longer a smoker. If you keep thinking like a smoker who chose not to smoke, you'll be back to smoking sooner or later, 2) Practice NOPE (not one puff ever) because it takes only one puff to be back at a full-blown addiction.

Eating healthy snacks, like carrots and doing physical exercises takes your mind off smoking too. You can do it. Good luck.
