DAY ONE!

Today is my Day 1. My plan is to go cold turkey and replace times that

I would have had a cigarette with a walk around the block (it's a small block!) OR with a carrot stick. My partner is a smoker and will smoke this evening at our end of work day chat. That will be hard! Fingers crossed.

Rooting for you!! My mom (who smokes) came to visit shortly after I quit and I just tried to focus on how yuck she smelled after coming in from smoking and her hacking cough. It really helped and being around other smokers solidifies why I quit more than it temps me. Hoping you can do something similar to help you while being around it. You got this!!

Thanks for your support Piff! That's why i chose 'nomorestinky' as my nickname!! I just have to not ask my partner for a cigarette... i'm pretty sure i can do this this! i need a mantra for each time i'm tempted!! may be my mantra could be 'nomorestinky'!!!!

It really is about the mindset. Don't debate with the cravings. You have decided.....take a firm stand. Stay committed to the betterment of yourself. Partners may even come to believe that they too can quit!

Mine quit 2 weeks after me but wanted to read the Allen Carr book first. I did not force him to quit, no one will quit when being forced. You have to WANT to. Read our stoies and find the WANT TO and the BELIEF that you can quit. We did and there is absolutely no reason why you can't too.
