second attempt of quitting. has to be cold turkey because i’ve been put in hospital, this is going to be very hard. especially because of medication interchanges ect. good luck to me i guess

When we quit smoking , we get immediate drop in blood pressure, more oxygen and rid of toxins in our bodies.

We have played Russian roulette becauses we believed that we had no choice. You may not want to quit smoking either but that is really only because you have come to believe that you can't.

No one can just tell us to quit smoking. Doctors hope that the fear tactic will make us quit, but that threat only makes us more anxious overall and makes us reach for a cigarette.

My friend, you really need to read this book......you need to find the desire to quit and the change in how you think about smoking to remain quit, enjoy being quit and proud that you have quit permanently.

Quitting doesn't have to be hard. I never thought that I would ever quit but then saw that it could be done and started to believe that I could also quit. DESIRE and BELIEF.

It helps to know that we are addicts...how does that make you feel?

To also learn that smoking does nothing. It does not relieve stress or make us brave, or solve our lonliness.

Smoking is a most boring, stinky, expensive and destructive thing to do with our money and lives.

We smoke so we don't have cravings....pure and simple. We keep that cycle going every time that we light up.

The nicotine withdrawal is barely perceptible......iand over with in a few days.....It is the psychological dependence that prolongues the process of ending the cravings. Yet, cravings are just thoughts.

The thought process can be changed. This book will make your quit much easier. It is free so there is no excuse not to read it. We are done with excuses. We made excuses to smoke and save face for far too long. Face the truths, learn about why we smoke and how we can embrace this opportunity for freedom.

You have lots of time to read this , so will feel much better in a couple of days.

Change your mind and change your life.

Hello hobanmolly_. Welcome to a support group that really supports! Just the fact that you posted indicates to me that you are reaching out. Reaching out for anything that will help you to quit. You have come to the right place.

Read the wise words from Happiness. Yes, you need to WANT to quit, not feel like you are forced to quit.

You have the perfect opportunity to get this out of your system without any temptations. You can't smoke in the hospital, so go with the flow. Change your mindset that you now have an opportunity to be free. Not to mention the health benefits. I sometimes thought that I would need to be locked up somewhere in order for me to quit. You have a perfect opportunity, take advantage of it.

The nicotine will leave your system within a short amount of time. After that,... you are "home free"! Take this time to read the Allen Carr book. Remember that you don't need an addiction in your life. Use this time to heal. Whatever your health problem is, you are in the hospital to heal and you can also heal your overall health by quitting smoking.

Stay inspired. Get positive about this quit. You won't regret it. Get educated by reading posts from this site. Old posts, new posts and use the search tool. Don't think that you are being forced to quit. Think of it as an opportunity. When you get out of the hospital, stay quit. You would have some non-smoking time under your belt so continue. Continue to get in control of your life and get your freedom back!
