Day 33

Posted in Getting started
schedule 7 Sep 2021

Day 33 with no cigarettes or vaping. Well two days ago I slipped and weakened again today.

I’m trying not to look at it as a failure.

It’s difficult when people you know look at you in distaste or call you a failure because you slipped and had a cigarette.

I find the hardest for me is missing that morning cigarette.

And the one that I used to have halfway through dinner to enjoy my dining experience.

I joined this forum to read other people’s experiences and to know I am not the only one going through this.

Hi HappySpirit!! So,.. you slipped, it sometimes happens. But you got up and kept on going with your quit. Do NOT light up today. Take a long deep breath and let the urge pass.

Your slip is now in the past, right where it should be! Keep the future smoke free. You know you want to quit. 33 days is such an accomplishment, it really is and it shows you are a WINNER!! You already did most of the tough stuff, now its a matter of STAYING quit.

Think of your first days and remember how you got through them. YOU DID IT! Seeing you got through those hard days, you can get through ANY day! Turn away from that old mindset, YOU are a NON-SMOKER now! Do not give in to the nicotine. You don't want to return to being an addict.

You've done so good this far you know you can continue. You might have slipped, but you are getting back on track. You can do this! You are already a winner! Keep going strong and have no doubt in your mind that you will never take another puff again. N-O-P-E (Not One Puff Ever). Hang in there, we are all behind you! Best...

schedule 7 Sep 2021

You are doing great! It gets easier with time and feeling more comfortable with the new you and routines. Stop thinking that you missing the enjoyment of that mid-dinner cigarette. We only thought that we enjoyed it because it was preferable to cravings. When you realize and accept that smoking really did nothing for you and that it causes its own cycle of addiction, can you let go and not have some feeling of loss.

Instead look at how much you stand to gain!

Once you reach the point where you have not had nicotine for a time, one puff can take you back to day one of nicotine independence. Then you would certainly NOT want to give in. Think positive and believe that you can get past that critical stage just like many here. If we can do it, so can you!

Welcome Happyspirit, ohhhh its a slippery slope that slip I know it all to well. Once you let the nicodemon back in its a fight of feelings and emotions. You are not a failure, but you do need to turn away from that mindset of feeling of loss and see smoking for what it really is, a filthy addiction that robs us from money, health, time, self worth and leaves us smelling like an ashtray, not attractive or exciting like we first felt when we very first picked up a cigarette and embarked on our jouney of addiction.

I wish you well my friend, I wish you success, so I pray you put them in the trash where they belong and soldier on the winners path of fresh air and good health. There's no such thing as 1 for most pple so open your eyes to the truth, there is nothing to miss. We are all addicts that were feeding an addiction is all. Stay close to the website as you are amongst friends here who are all cheering you on to become a non smoker. No matter how many times you slip, it's okay, but just remember it pulls us in the wrong direction of our common goal🙌

schedule 7 Sep 2021

Happyspirit if at first you don't succeed than you try and try again. There is absolutely no failure in that only success that is yet to come to full fruition. No matter what we try and try again 🙌❤️🙏

Such good advice from everyone.

Happyspirit don’t entertain any negative thoughts they just break us, I know, easier said than done but positive thoughts are imperative in beating the bond with the little tobacco sticks.

You have decided to break free, you desire to be a non smoker and you should be darn proud of yourself coz you ARE doing something about that.

Doesn’t matter what set backs may occur, what others may think or if they are indeed disappointed, it doesn’t matter because this is Your journey not theirs and you are doing the best you can.

Heaps of success I wish for you just keep moving forward, the best is waiting ahead.

😊
