The Knowing

Ever wondered why some people have a difficult time and some people have an easy time in Quitting and most of us fit somewhere and anywhere within the scale of difficulty to easy?
I used to wonder and worry about it alot, I am not so much fixated why this happens because I'm along way down the road of recovery from the addiction these days. 561 days to be exact.
Yippee
.
I think if you can trick yourself into believing you will not smoke after your last Puff, it can be easier.
Um, sorry, that's not a good example. And this next part is probably better geared for those still contemplating Quitting the smokes for good
.
When you have made up your mind. You have unequivocally decided to have your very last one. And you know that the game is up, finished, complete, Not One Puff Ever. When you Know that, it fills you with self asuredness and self belief. It kills fear and gives you the confidence to carry on without the stinkers. With a mindset of knowing your habit is behind you and the debate of will I/wont I will not factor in your thinking.
Sounds easy. So make a plan, set a date and goodluck.
I was a 30 to 40 a dayer, so if I can do it, you can too!

Yeah, the most important thing which provide this site and quitters like you is that bring a believe that everybody can quit.. forever.. not by just saying that, but living like that and show proof of that.. congrat to 561 days.. avesome job..

You are so right PuffNoMore, a decision to follow through and Belief that you can do it just like so many have proven. Sites like this lend belief and encouragement to those starting out and perhaps feeling alone and not knowing what to expect.
Of course , I don't want them to EXPECT discomforts and problems that they read of. Personally, I want them to find their freedom and success as easily and as quickly as I did.
I am so proud of you for never giving up PuffNoMore, but as difficult as you found it to be, you made it! You are the inspiring one.
As you point out, it is the mindset.....the belief that you can do it. When we have firmly chosen and can envision our lives in the future free of this terrible habit that has become a part of our daily lives, when we can stop missing those "voids" and find healthier habits, when we can be proud of ourselves for our daily victories and know that we will be greatly rewarded for our resolve.
We are giving up nothing, as smoking never really gave us anything. It only took......our money, our health and made us nicotine junkies.
We never believed that we could change and let fear keep us prisoner. So end the fear of quitting smoking. Learn how it can be done and how many benefits await . Let others show you the way. It really is as easy or as hard as you believe it to be.

Very encouraging words PuffNoMore! Thank you and congratulations on 561 days of FREEDOM!!
As for mindset, I'm not going to over complicate "mindset", but for me, I just needed to make up my mind that NOW IS THE TIME, I'M DONE, THIS IS IT!! I am determined to make it work this time and whether I tricked my mind or not, I really did push myself to BELIEVE I can do it and to foresee all the benefits that will come to me.
I WANT IT OUT OF MY LIFE MORE THAN I WANT IT IN MY LIFE!!1
My quit certainly has not been a "walk in the park" by any means, but it has not been that bad either. I am creating fond memories of my "quit". I am gaining confidence, I have had some stressful moments and I lived through it fine, I have had some triggers that I survived nicely and did not once come close to having one single puff. I'm getting pretty darn proud of myself to say the least!
You are right, you need to BELIEVE you can do it and it actually can be as easy or hard as you believe it to be.
For anyone out there just starting out my advise is to stay very close to this site as the words are so valuable, helpful and these good hearted folks are trying to hold our hands to help us become the non-smoker that they are today.
I am close to 3 weeks (tomorrow) and as I reflect on my quit, it really has not been that bad after all. I should have worked harder on my mindset all my previous quits ago. They are right, it can be hard or easy and it depends on "mindset".
I hope everyone has a great smokeless day today!!!

Hi there PuffNoMore it's always wonderful to hear from you 😊 wise words as always and I must say folks like you sure have helped quitters like me along the way. Congrats on your 561 days of PuffNoMore 🙌😊❤️

Hi, PuffNoMore and congratulations on your 561 days free from that deadly smoking habit. I can remember when you came on board and you have helped others at the same time as helping yourself.
Yes self belief is a powerful thing, which took me quite some time to realize after so many setbacks. Great post and thanks for coming back to help the newer ones, NOPE (not one puff ever)

Thanks again ladies. You are all so lovely with your words I feel like some lone Rooster, in a hen house.
