I would like to thank all those people that have sent emails of encouragement they mean so much that I can share this journey with others who understand. I’m determined to give it my best, I have failed three time before but I can’t think of that if I’m to succeed, however it does play with your mind. I thank you again for reaching out to me I feel like I’m not alone in this.

Hi salby you are not alone here. We are all here to help each other. Stick with us 😊

Hey Salby, I was wondering how you were doing. The number of times I quit is way above the single digits! Yes, you can share your journey with us as we share ours with you. You are absolutely not alone.

I was glad to see your post this morning. You DON'T want to smoke. You want to be FREE. There is no better time than now. Today!

schedule 9 Aug 2021

This is my 3rd time Salby, before I knew about this forum. and many of us are all on your side.

For me I found failure hard to bear especially when I never failed much at anything before. The key to my success this time was to read Alan Cars book and every post on this website. The most helpful I found was a video called "How to grow to be a Happy Non smoker" this gave me an understanding of myself without beating myself up and stopped the shame I felt inside.

I now advocate NOPE (not one puff ever) purely to keep my subconscious and physical thoughts on the right track. It has carried me to freedom so far and will always be in my thoughts no matter what life throws at me.

You are not alone and you have a vast amount of information at your fingertips to help you through this process. Click on my name above and it will take you to my other stories and a link to a free e-book by Allan Carr. Follow the experiences of others. We all started out like you, and with half-hearted attempts to quit smoking. There is really only ONE quit, this one, the past were a learning experience to draw from. This quit is not those. This time it will be different and you will learn even more.

Never give up. When you really want it and understand that you don't need cigarettes it can even be easy. Cravings are but thoughts. Ignore them and they will fade away, or acknowledge them as what they are but that you are starving and therefore have power over the addiction. We are stronger than we think. We here are proof, and you can help us show others that it can be done.

I’m still struggling with posting on this site

schedule 11 Aug 2021

It looks to me like you are posting just fine. You have posted a couple of stories, so people can contact you via those pages, just as you can leave a post(message) for someone else on THEIR pages. It is best to answer on current pages for others to learn too. Newbies often have the same concerns and questions.

You are doing great Salby, both on your journey and in your posting. It only gets better!

Hi Salby it sounds like you are struggling more with posting on this site more than you are struggling with quitting. 😊❤️ Stick with us it will get easier posting and quitting 🧘

Hello Salby,.. just checking in on you. If I'm correct, I think this is Day 6 for you? I hope by now you know that you are not alone. I'm not too much ahead of you, but I remember the beginning days as being the hardest. It sounds like I'm an old pro when I say, "It get's easier". But honestly, it really does. Hang in there!
