Starting Monday

Hi, just new to this forum today. I am planning to stop on Monday but already anxious about it. I am 65 years old and have tried many times to quite but it has never stuck. I longest I have not smoked was for about 12 weeks and that was a few years ago. I really want to stop, health and finance reasons. Hate to admit that I think the finance reason is my most strongest, although my health would benefit soo much. Hope this forum helps.

Hello nanarene. Make this something that you want to do for yourself. You are worth it and you will be so proud of yourself. It is doable when we welcome the change in a positive manner. Learn and believe!

I felt SO anxious before my quit day, and fair enough, it is a BIG deal. It really helped me to remember, I can always have a cigarette, just as I always have done, BUT today I am choosing NOT to have one, and then on and on it went!
It’s so unfair that the addiction we are able to buy because the government doesn’t care about us, is capable of stealing our will to want to be healthier! But it’s true, it is a strong grip those filthy stench machines.
Whatever you believe, it will be true! Sending you so much motivation and good will for tomorrow. :-)

Welcome nanarene I have no doubt you will find lots of here are ready to help you 😊 Be sure to stick around to receive all our help ❤️

Finance is certainly a good motivation. I can't believe the number of things I could do for my family just by not smoking for last 250 days. All the best. Looking forward for your updates.

Hurray, Monday is here! I trust that you are doing well and thinking positive.
It really is worth the effort in the end. You can do it this time. You are not alone and you have learned a few tricks. 👍
