- It gives me something to do
It gives me something to do

I think I can’t break my smoking habit because I rely on it to give me something to do - when I’m bored and a break away from what I’m doing.
I’m a student and when I’ve had enough of studying or I need a break, I use the smokes as a reason to get away from my studies. I’m just tired of dividing my time and day up of constantly walking in and outside for a smoke.
I don’t actually mind the walking and moving around part, I just wish I wasn’t smoking. I like exercising but it’s difficult when I smoke.
Even writing this and talking about smokes I want one now - It’s so stupid...
I feel if I could break my boredom and improve the way I think and feel in general, I probably wouldn’t need to smoke... Seems simple doesn’t it?

Wow, I miss the excitement of smoking .
You have obviously not read any of our stories and have certainly not accepted the fact that you are addicted to nicotine. You have made some very opposing statements.
So you are busy with us, yet bored, so you want a cigarette.
You like to exercise but smoking makes it difficult.
You don't mind the walking and movement but don't want to smoke.
Movement is good. Exercise is good. Smoking is not.
Exercise is something to do and you enjoy it.....what is the problem?
Take time from your desk to stretch and rejuvenate.
Enjoy conversation with your peers, unless of course your cigarette told funnier jokes.
In that case find new friends.
Sucks to be bored so suck smoke.
Sounds stupid doesn't it?
Maybe because it is.
I think the first step is to admit you are an addict. Read , learn and discover that you can escape the interference in your studies. You can enjoy your exercise without being winded. You can find other ways to fill those gaps while improving health and saving all that money you will puff up in smoke for a healthier, wealthier and secured future.
No one wishes they smoked. Stay and learn how to want to quit.

If you don't think you can break the habit, then most likely you won't, your thoughts definitely need some work, the pros and cons and decisions made needs some work, Your strongest commitment needs work; believe me you will not be bored striking up these positions in your mind. Just think of it like a game of chess, and work out your strategies, the only difference is, this game of smoking is so harmful both mentally and physically, it will keep you on the roundabout for years if you let it, and you will never win if you don't really want to run the course.
Work out your reasons, read these posts, research Nicotine, find out how much the Government gets from this vile habit. Once you have these answers and your personal reasons, you will be clear on when! and how! you will quit, there is no time like the present, no excuses.

Thank you: Happiness, Red-67 & Softly40 for reaching out and replying to my post it is very much appreciated...
