Hi 🙋‍♀️ I’ve tried many times to stop, but I really want too for many reasons. I am using a cut down smoking app. Just started 3 days ago, messed up one day but went right back. I’m really hopeful that it works this time, my quit date is May 4, Also this app is helping me to see day by day how many cigarettes I have and I’m glad to see the pattern of my smoking

Hi, it is great for you that you have made up your mind to quit smoking and you will. I wrote many posts and one might be of interest to you. Never Give Up Giving Up, Try This.........which gives ideas about how to think about the cigarette and how to adjust your thinking and be aware with each cigarette you have. In this way you will not "Cherish" each smoke and make it the center of your day while you count down the time until you can have it.

Or maybe you will......but you are also learning that you are an addict to nicotine and just getting a "fix". You are seeing how it controls you. You are not choosing to have one, it is ordering you to feed it.....or else.

We knew when to feed it so that we forgot about the true nature of the beast. We fed It and then left us alone. We enjoyed the relief we fed after feeding it. We did not necessarily enjoy smoking. We just came to believe that we must enjoy it. Smokers brainwashed each other........

No one can ever tell me that they never tried to quit smoking.......even if for an hour ......No one can tell me they would willingly choose to smoke, once free and happy being a non-smoker. I would like to hear from anyone who CHOSE to be a lifelong smoker. We all started as a social smoker who thought that we were in control......

Cutting down smoking really doesn't make much difference to the nicotine level in your system when quitting. There is so little of it left after a nights sleep, but it didn't wake you to feed it. That's because after the (drug ) nicotine is long gone, there is still the psychological that we need to work on.

Do not "Cherish" the cigarette. See it for the opponent that it is and know that you can win. We know you can. You need to BELIEVE that too.

Feel free to quit before your date. I did. Cutting down beforehand was the hardest part and unnecessary in my opinion unless you are learning to WANT to quit!

Welcome Mush, everyone is different but the thing that should be the strongest in your mind is NOPE (not one puff ever) practiced daily. This is the only way to stop the thought process of wanting a "Nicotine fix" I can attest to this myself over numerous attempts.

hi guy's. I just tuned in here.

Have an end date. I mean, your last smoke. Or your last puff and that will be your start of being a person that does not smoke!

Only then, you honestly can tell yourself, family and friends> what clothing and shoe manufacturer states as it's motto?

Clue: the swish

Good luck.
