Two Weeks Quit

drink plenty of ice cold water through a straw

Hello again Jatchet. It sounds like you are seriously going the distance this time. Significant savings might motivate you more, as well as you picture of the marathon man. It seems that you are still fixated on time though. Watching the clock as it were, but there is no set finish line. The journey is really over when you accept the change of being a non-smoker whole heartedly. Have you re read Allan Carr lately? The mindset and knowledge of the truths that he presents to you are designed to get you thinking about cigarettes in a different way. Once we see they didn't do anything for us, we are more apt to stop mourning there loss. You are missing nothing. Don't count the days without a cigarette but celebrate the days of freedom and better health as a non-smoker.
I do hope you will stay with us to learn this mindset and make this your last quit. Stick with it and you will be a winner. Enough practice runs.....simply make up your mind!

All I can say to the above comment is that I am still quit, I realise that it is a process not an event, but the process is made up of many events and they mark a commitment, a passion and a narrative about the smoking journey, Needless to say I am using a 21 mg patch once per day and occasionally using an inhalator, My wife smokes, so they are constantly around...in the house...I avoid them like the plague. I am also using a quit counsellor attached to the local mental health service. From what limited research I have done, health professionals don't hold much hope out for those with SMI being successful, I plug along, another component of my quit journey is exercise and though limited with osteoarthritis in the left hip try to manage 10,000 steps /day.
For those statistically minded here are my quit stats...Three weeks, five days, 16 hours, 10 minutes and 40 seconds. 1066 cigarettes not smoked, saving $1,467.05. Life saved: 3 days, 16 hours, 50 minutes.
Thank you for reading

You like doing math. How many smoked over the years? How much life lost? How much money spend. How much had you reinvested that money at 7%
The amounts will be astronomical, but we can't change the past. Now do the math for the Future, same questions. Should you pick up just one, it will lead to more.........than is the addiction, the drug. Numbers mean something to you so plug in some realistic figures and go.
