Today is the day

Started Nicotex patch today. Didnt feel craving for the first half of the day but bit itchy now:( I have tried cold turkey a few times but it didnt last so hoping the patch with help. My spouse is a heavy smoker so I am bit nervous about relapse- psychological / habit based rather than withdrawl... I am more determined in a non- dramatic way this time so lets hope!!

Welcome M.S Your belief in yourself at this stage is very important, no matter how many times you have tried before you have learnt valuable lessons, this time keep NOPE (not one puff ever) paramount in your mind to be either written or said to yourself as many times in the day as you like.

Practice meditation skills, there are a few apps online to help you with this, but basically, the best and quickest is to have a few "very deep breaths" whenever thoughts enter your head which do not help you, and "breath out slowly."

Take time to read our stories and how you to can overcome the addiction. We all had our doubts in the beginning I am sure, but once seeing so many succeed you do come to believe that you can too. BELIEVING is half the battle!
