Mental health

I smoke literally for the sake of smoking, I don’t particularly enjoy it, it’s just something ingrained in my day, I have a couple in the morning, one at lunch break and a couple at night. I want to feel better and I have a feeling smoking is affecting my mental health because I always go through a mental low after my first cigarette of the day or a cigarette after 2+ hrs. I don’t know if there’s evidence to support that, but it can’t be worse for my mental heath if I quit smoking.

Now, sounds like the ideal time to quit before you do become addicted to the nicotine. Most people are highly susceptible and only a few can remain occasional smokers. (or are fooling themselves and lying to us). Since you derive no pleasure from it and truly want better mental health and overal health, there is nothing to stand in your way of quitting smoking. Altering some routines so it is not such a blatant void in your day will also help. Great decision and you can do it!

quitting has been beneficial to my mental health and confidence. I just have to keep reminding myself its OK to do what I need to do to continue being a non smoker, to give myself the space I need to achieve this goal
