Hi susana, I am 14 months quit using champix, it took me 3 weeks and I was worried it was not working, but it did, I took full dose for 3 months then cut the extra month in half and took half one a day, too be sure. Yes, I had trouble sleeping, felt a bit crazy but I now believe this was just the withdrawal and change in habits, I smoked for 30 years and it consumed every waking moment. You have made the best decision and best time to do this. You are going to feel so good, I promise, stay strong, committed and positive, you got this

Hi Susana. Champix as do other aids will do their part, but you also need to do yours. Desiring to be a non-smoker instead of fearing what life will be without one is a big hurdle. Embrace the journey. Read and understand you and nicotine. Desire to take back the control amongst other things this addiction stole from you. You can do it!

Welcome Susana, I used Champix and am over 12 months free now, I had to lower the dose to one in the morning and none at night because the dreams were too nightmarish for me, others have taken their second dose early on with their dinner, so this is another option.

Eventually you will have to come to the end of Champix and quit cold turkey so another date is needed for stopping the champix. During this time you need to prepare yourself with as much knowledge as you can about the harmful effects of smoking, and do not use any other product such as NRT during or after this. Champix has no Nicotine which is a bonus, but you still need to taper off as you come to the end and you still need to be vigilant in whatever way suits you. NOPE (not one puff ever)

Thanks very much. This as so helpful and encouraging for me. I am having strong dreams but so far just intriguing not scary. I also have an occasional day when I only take the morning dose. Yes embrace the journey. I took Champix a couple of years ago but restarted smoking after only a few months. That time did not like the dreams either. I think I quit the Champix after only one month then so will take for longer this time as you have suggested Broncor.
