Quitting after 20 years

I’m a smoker since almost 20 years and trying to quit it since 20 years. Before 7 months I have quit the habit for 3 months but couldn’t remain firm on NOPE. And started smoking since four months. But after listening to corona virus exposure to smokers, I have decided to quit. It’s almost 10 days. And lockdown is helping me. Wish me luck this time

If you can quit for 3 months you can certainly quit for good. No time like the present with this virus lurking about ready to wreak havoc on those with compromised immune systems. Even those few months gave your body a chance to heal somewhat from all the abuse from the last 20 years. We breathe better and have better vital signs soon after our last cigarette. Learn about nicotine and you. Knowing how we have been brainwashed for years and how smoking gives us nothing, we can change how we view smoking. We are giving up nothing and gaining everything. Ask any one here if they would choose to smoke again. believe you can quit because you can. Learn the mindset.

Welcome Rucruc. You now have all the time in the world to be free of the smoking habit, It is so easy to cave in and so hard to start again, believe me I know.
That being said we are all different, the key to begin with is to saturate your mind with knowledge and write out notes to yourself every day, the main one is NOPE but I am sure you can think of many more. Keep close to the forum, seek advice and enjoy the process this time around. This will give your mind something to work towards whilst we are in the middle of this world pandemic.
