Hello dear ex smokers!

My name is Cath- and Im just 11 smoke free. I went cold turkey..my two biggest fears for relapsing in early days were :1.smoking when going out and 2. Going on a coffee with a friend that smokes.

On day 9 I went out..had two glasses of wine-I didnt smoke!Felt so proud!

Today, on day 11-I went on a coffee with a coworker that smokes..coworkers were usually a trigger for me since they all smoke so much..but then again,I was offered a cigarette today on our coffee, and I refused! This two days were only two days that I felt proud on myself!!

i had a friend....he met me on my 20th day smoke free and just to show him that i was his same old good friend i smoked half a stick in front of him.....perhaps i didnt have conviction that i would stay smoke free so i didnt tell him about quitting but later that day i was ashamed of my act and i resumed my smoke free days with pride

Goodfor you for staying committed. We choose to quit smoking not our friends. However, true friends would support your decision and will wish they had the gumption to quit. e proud of making a sane decision for once.

Congratulations on not allowing those situations to defeat your commitment, it can be difficult in certain situations. Your friends most likely respect you for not caving in to temptation. Continue to consider the cigarette as the worst of friends to have around you and cannot be invited in to your world of smoke free lung free body ever. Keep it up you are doing well

If you can come out the other side of your two most dreaded scenarios still smoke free, you can do it forever. I feel so sorry for my friends who are still stuck in the rut.

Good on you! You have escaped.
