Beginning again

Hey everyone, I am on day 4 of my quit, with nicotine patches, 14 milligram. So far, I feel okay. A couple of strong urges, but Ive been able to handle them. This is my second attempt to quit. I quit 3 years ago for a year, and lost my quit. I wasnt ready, I guess. Not quite sure why it failed, but here I am again. Dr said my cholesterol was high and I know smoking is not helping that, so I made the decision to try again. If anyone has any advice, let me have it please. I have read Allen Carrs book, so if you all know of any other helpful literature, please let me know. Thanks in advance!

Hi Sueshi. Have you ever joined a support group before? I think many find that the difference, kind of makes you want to take it more seriously, be accountable and be proud of your accomplishment. I found a belief in myself when I joined, of course, you have quit for a lengthy period of time so know what to expect as far as benefits to be reaped.
I would suggest that you read the book again, and follow the posts here. Even after you are successfully quit, stay in touch so that this may be your last quit.
Glad to have you on board. You know you can quit, just keep it this time by embracing the mindset. Don't deny yourself the rewards that you deserve. You are worth it!

HI! Sueshi🙋♀️
You are in the right place to succeed in your quit.
Please reread the book. You've quit before so you know how good it is on the other smoke FREE side of life.
You have a very special reason to continue... your high cholesterol.
You of all people MUST adopt N.O.P.E.
Not One Puff Ever....
One drag, JUST ONE cigarette at a party starts that ADDICTION all over again.
You can NEVER EVER have a smoke again.
Your choice. You are with friends who understand and will support you.
Dont forget to do your quit plan and track the $$$$ saved. Its amazing how much money we burn on cigarettes. Good motivator..🐟

Thank you to all who have responded and commented. @Happiness, yes, I have been a part of an online support group. When I quit for the year, three years ago, their support was monumental. @Pisces24, thank you. NOPE is the answer, and I will reread A C's book.@Nuts, I will probably wear the 14 mg patches for 2 weeks and then the 7's for 2 weeks. After that, I hope to go it on my own. Thanks for the encouragement!
