You Want To Be A Non-Smoker.....THINK Like A Non-Smoker!

-
Everyone has their own terms whether it be ex-smoker or non-smoker. Red has a valid point in that we want the mentality of a non-smoker to accept this journey fully and to put all desire to smoke put to bed. Although others have achieved their dreams of "choosing not to smoke, they still continue to believe that they enjoyed it and even described it as a good thing. That must be a continual stress to keep the commitment of not smoking.
Non-smokers , real ones, never smokers, never had that stress because they never smoked. As smokers thinking as non-smokers, we too can leave behind all desire for smoking with the acceptance of the truth...that smoking never did us one bit of good, gave us nothing and it in fact did the opposite of what we (with the help of society, advertising and with repeated lies from smokers themselves) believed it to do for us.
It is actually the cause of our stress, boredom, anxiety, lack of concentration, relaxation. How many money problems or health issue could have been avoided? Nicotine is a stimulant , not a relaxant, our blood pressure rises. If we can't feed our addiction we get stressed. We would not have that stress if we did not have that addiction. We could concentrate fully without having to break for the constant nagging of nicotine. Lack of oxygen and fear of having to go a time without feeding the monster gave us less desire to pursue other enjoyment and socializing in life. Even shame when smoking fell out of grace, It stole our innocence, self worth, confidence and ability to even protect ourselves from harm. We brainwashed ourselves to cover our stupidily. The only time smoking really feels good is to relieve the craving. Even cravings are not what we have come to believe. Mere thoughts the nicotine monster sends to remind us to feed him.
Learn the truth about nicotine and you. Starve the nico monster.
Believe the truth, believe in yourself and Believe you can be free.
The Battle really is won in the mind!

Smoking really is a habit, more than an addiction. While the term "addiction" seems stronger and more intimidating, i began using it to have you face the fact that a smoker is an addict, which also hits home. Admitting you are one is the first step in any recovery program.
The good news is that beating nicotine is much easier than we were led to believe.....
The longest and hardest part of the journey for most is breaking the "habit". Repeated actions we have done for years. We knew to feed the nicotine monster even before he begged. He had us so trained!
It is a wonder that he even let us sleep! Of course maybe even nicotine has survival instinct, he needed to live within us. We served no purpose dead. He stole our basic instinct for survival though. Forced us to poison ourselves on a timetable.
Do you still believe that you control your life?
We were so brainwashed that we could not even take steps to save our own lives. We plead with our children not to smoke, but felt to weak to fight the all feared nicotine addiction. We buried our heads in the sand as to not face how weak and out of control we were.
Thanks to Allen Carr's book which i will post below, and thanks to sites like iCanQuit the truth can prevail.
The truth really can set you free. Lift your heads, look around and do like millions of others have done.....say NO to nicotine.

Well said and thanks for being the Champion of QUIT SMOKING..
You're making a big difference in the lives of many.
I was embarrassed to use the word ADDICT but use it now more freely.
I guess we are shamed enough and feel such self hatred it's hard to say but I agree that you must use the word for people to accept how serious it is.
NICOTINE is a monster for sure but the worst monster is the one within ourselves. Mr Nicotine knew which ones to pick.

We the smoker are not at fault Pisces, we are victims. Maybe naive and impressionable, but victims of a despicable drug and we didn't choose to become addicted. To think that we had to work very hard to learn how to smoke and paid thousands of dollars over the course of years for the privilege of destroying our health.
I am reading Allen Carr's book again and remembering even more this time around. This man's insight is amazing!

I'm happy to say that I have finally read the book. I get it now. I'm going to get a hard copy to refer to. Too hard reading as a PDF on my phone.
...
I don't punish myself and despise my weak self now.
I was a victim.
No more.
I'm a winner and Mr Nicotine is the loser.
I finally believe in MYSELF

I think you've got it !
Anyone can quit much easier if they read the book and understand what nicotine is, what it did to us and how we coped with it. Haven't I always said knowledge is Power? Understand you and nicotine. See the truths, You can be free. Believe it!!!
Merriest of Christmas to you and yours Pisces.

Thank you and Have a Happy and safe Christmas Happiness.
You've a lot if grateful friends

Hi Happiness I just wanted to thankyou very much for posting the link to the Allen Carr book. I am smart enough to have worked most of this out over the years and have had many experiences at quitting but he puts its it all together so well and lets you see the positive side of everything. My deepest thanks once again.
Signed Day 1 :)
