Hello everyone,

I have been a smoker on and off since 1982 I was smoking 60 per day....

I had a stent put in my heart last December. Since the I have been trying to quit.

Can't do Champix as after successfully using them once, on the second attempt I was suicidal after 1 week. Patches? I developed an allergy to them. Lozenges not good either.

I have been using Zyban for a while now and have gone from 60 down to around 10-15 per day. I stalled for a while for a week or so but am now getting back on track.

I want to Stop my 2 daughters worrying about me, stop burning money, get my health back. The amount of money I now fork out on Medication related to my smoking is getting out of control.

I want to quit for life!

Hi Spot 60 . You have come to a great site for support and understanding. You are not alone on this journey and it is a quite doable one . Zyban nor any aid alone will guarantee you a sustainable quit. That comes with the understanding of nicotine and your relationship with it. Read all you can about the addiction, here and on line. Retrain your mind to a new way of thinking and acceptance of being a non-smoker. Do not fear it or miss it but embrace the journey as the best thing you could ever do for yourself and family. Positive thinking goes a long way in making it possible.

Hi spot 60, welcome aboard, one thing I cannot stop enjoying is how quickly our bodies try to recover, I have been smoking 35 years, bad sinus sore throat, you name it, raspy voice, 5 weeks smoke free and I am feeling GOOD, still a ways to go but enjoying this new journey. You will save two fold, cigarettes and medication, think of these reasons and particularly your daughters, you can do this.
