Hi there, I made the decision today to stop. So went online and found this website.

I am trying to get Champix from my doctor as I tried cold turkey and quite smoking aids before but still keep failing :-(.

Not sure why I am sharing my thoughts on here but I hope it will help putting it out there and motivate me to press on this time.

Hi. As Red above stated, make up your mind to quit smoking... not give up cigarettes. You are gaining a healthier bank account and body and a brighter future for yourself and loved ones. You are giving up nothing but misery.

Taking the positive outlook and embracing this journey makes it quicker and easier. Cravings are only fleeting thoughts and a sign that the nicotine monster is dying. Our addiction to nicotine is the relentless vicious circle of constant slavery to feed the habit. A cycle because of nicotine itself. Break the cycle and be free. It can be easier than you ever imagined.

Hi rob84, I started champix late feb and I am now 31 days quit, I don’t know how successful I would have been without it, but then again it was my time and I was ready to quit. Everyone is different. I still found I had the physical withdrawals and some slight side effects which I am now convinced were withdrawals. Champix has made it easier for me, I have halved the medication now. These guys above are great help with advice, so keep in touch with them, take any inspiration wherever you can. Whichever way you decide is best for you good luck with it.

G'day Rob, Just watch the Champix mate I don't want to discourage you. I had quit on Champix for about a year before taking it back up at double the rate. Second attempt with Champix had me suicidal within one week of starting. It might not affect everyone. But just a caution. I am now on Zyban and they are working. Never quit quitting!
