Although i hate repeating myself......

schedule 23 Feb 2019

I am sure many have grown tired of my long responses and repetition.... however, some newbies come without knowledge, and my post and other valuable posts about the mindset, and other great quitting information by myself and other members has been long buried. I once had a comment that someone was quit smoking for about 8 weeks before realizing there was the psychological part of a quit which we older members regard as the mindset. Not all newcomers have researched about nicotine, its health benefits, why we came to smoke years ago, how it rules our lives, and other very pertinent information.

I cannot stress enough to the newcomers to research on line about nicotine, their addiction and how to use their Nrt. The

Nicotine Replacement Therapy is only effective for a lasting effect WITH quit forums such as this, and understanding how to use the product, how to use forums for support and knowledge as how to change your attitude towards smoking. Until you deal with this usually longer part of the quit, you will not come to ACCEPT your new status as a non-smoker. It is not the addiction to the nicotine but the habits of having a cigarette with associations, like with coffee, on breaks, as a reward after a chore, or driving to work. Nor is it or has it EVER BEEN of help or an answer to our problems of stress, anxiety, diet or whatever! Once learning the true nature of the addiction and how it controlled us to not only keep feeding it.... which we do BECAUSE IT CAUSES THE ENDLESS CRAVINGS...but we have actually come to believe we need it.

Once you understand that cigarette companies added arsenic and other dreadful countless chemicals to addict us and give us that "Punch" factor instantly and to addict us to that feeling, will we ever come to accept that we were not born as addicts. We do not not need that "Punch ", but to come to realization that the companies did beat up on us relentlessly. They took our money, our dreams, our self respect, our belief in our own abilities. Our addiction made us lie to ourselves for years to justify our stupid , STUPID, decision to keep smoking, telling ourselves we enjoyed it, and that it did something for us. The TRUTH IS THAT WE WERE USED. We could not even admit the truth to ourselves, because we felt trapped.

You are not alone in that feeling, nor in your fight to freedom. We understand the addiction to nicotine and how you feel. Read about how others fought back and won. You can too!

Read and Learn. Knowledge is the most powerful tool. Believe in yourself . You too can become a happy non-smoker, all you need to do is learn how to embrace the idea rather than fear it.
