No everyone, I'm new to the community as my doctor had just given me a prescription for Champix. I haven't actually started using it yet I'm in the process of setting a date to quit. My doctor is very supportive and had been asking me if I'm ready to stop for a number of years now, but I just wasn't. I hope I can be strong enough not to give in to cravings as I'm a coffee lover and they just go hand in hand them two. I'll keep you posted on the progress and looking forward to posting one of those "10 days smoke free" soon.

You can do it Greta! I have started my quit with Champix. Was smoking nearly 30 a day for almost 23 years. I stop taking Champix at around 3 weeks and have been flying solo since. Champix definitely help to take the edge off and with the right frame of mind you will be a happy non-smoker in no time! Good luck and looking forward to read about your progress. Remember, once you have rid yourself of nicotine, there is absolutely no need for smoking anymore. It does not make your coffee taste better. You only smoke to get to the nicotine. Good luck!

Hi all, I just started champix today setting my quit date for 22/10. I had been cutting down prior to starting. A few years ago I had managed to give up for 12 months using champix but never completed the course due to cost. I know what a lame excuse considering the cost of cigarettes. A few weak moments and bam I was hooked again. I had been talking about giving up again for a while but never made the decision until now. With it being on the PBS I will definitely do the full course this time and hopefully not weaken again. Though I have had a few ciggs today I didn't enjoy them as I would normally so I guess it's working already. In this past week I have noticed patterns that I really need to break so that's my first challenge.
