Severe anxiety when quitting

Hello all, this is my first time posting here!

My quit date is 8/11/18 and this is not my first attempt. I have severe anxiety, for which I am on meds and have seen a therapist. However, quitting causes me to have horrendous panic attacks. At the moment there are no adjustments that can be made to my medicines. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if so, how they coped? I feel so alone in this aspect of withdrawal and it is always what sends me into a relapse.

Any help is appreciated so much.

@Robn, thank you so much for your kind response, it brought me to tears. I am sorry that your daughter is suffering with this as well. I have heard a lot of good things about the Allen Carr book, I definitely need to check it out.

It truly is all about mindset, and I need to really work on that almost every minute of the day.

@Candy, thank you for your response. I haven't seen that here (am in the US) but will definitely check on Amazon <3

I've been taking Champix and had my first anxiety attack in years at the weekend- which then lead to a wonderful IBS flare up! I don't know what to suggest, other than just make sure you're clear in your mind on your methods of coping. I've not taken meds for my anxiety, but I know what makes it worse- so I've been avoiding triggers and just trying not to spiral into that destructive mindset. It isn't easy, but I just keep saying to myself that it's only for a finite period of time, and that it will get better- which is something which is easy to lose sight of.

@noodleworm,

I am so sorry that you had an anxiety attack after so long. I heard that Champix can cause anxiety in some people, not sure how common that is. I also have IBS and my anxiety makes it 100x worse.

I am glad that we can fight together, I believe in us xx
