Quit Buddies

Hi there, just starting the smoke free journey. I think it might help if there were someone else in the same place, also serious about quitting who might want to be a quit buddy. I noticed someone else found a quit buddy on the site. Anyone out there?

I could use an Allie as I am declaring war on the psychological attack I have been subjected to for the past 40 years!

Sounds good Warplan. I've got your back and you've got mine. Anyone else who wants to join us is most welcome as well.

Awesome Sophia. I'm looking forward to getting through this initial phase. I have a busy time coming up at work in September so trying to lay the groundwork now.

Hi all, could I join the group too? :)
I quit yesterday for the illiamth time in the past three years...
I really want to succeed this time, I know I will feel better and be happier for it.
We just need to get through the next three weeks!!

Absolutely Silk. Welcome to the merry band! lol I haven't shared much of my story but I'll do that over the next few days as time permits.

So. Here's my story. When I was young, I flirted with smoking but my body always rejected the smoke and my mates would just end up laughing cause I'd cough my lungs out on one puff. In my 30's I got involved in the music scene, was at a friend's house, picked up a smoke and I could inhale. "Cool!" I thought then. 20+ years later, not cool. It was just stupidity on my part. Who starts smoking in their 30's? My father died of lung cancer and I love life. I don't want a self-imposed illness to take me out of this world.
Add to that, that I actually studied Physical and Health Education at Uni and you'd never know it to look at me now. So, I want the age-appropriate version of my former self back.
My partner smokes and has said that I need to lead the way. I've said smokes need to be hidden and when smoking, she needs to move away from the back door. I work from home and my office is just inside the back door. My partner has been respectful of these requests; however, it's amazing how good you can get at finding hiding places when you're having a Nic fit. :)
I was going well last weekend, and then back to work and it got a little rougher.
So tomorrow is the day. Today I'm allowing myself 2 or 3 smokos...literally. Tomorrow none.
I'd love to hear how everyone else is going and please wish me luck! Tips appreciated as well. :)
