Four days in

So, I'm on day number four without smoking and am both pleased with myself and also feeling like today will be a day of desperate cravings. I'm on Champix so it's not so bad in the morning when I've just taken my pill and feel horribly nauseous, but the evenings are tough. I have absolutely no plans to pick up a cigarette ever again, and I'm firm in my reasons for wanting to quit- but I'm just wondering whether anyone has any tips on how to distract yourself when you're having a hard craving? Chewing gum doesn't work for me because I chew gum all the time anyway (I will not miss smokers breath!) and I was just wondering if anyone has any other suggestions?

Alan Carr describes a craving as a slight empty feeling that non smokers don't suffer from. Turn that empty feeling into a feeling of relief that you don't have to smoke any longer. Or think if it as a worm in your body that is dieing. Kill the worm! (I can't spell dieing at the moment ☺)
Hi Noodleworm
Well Done :)
I found the best way to distract myself from the craving is... I have a sheet of paper & Pen handy (not to handy, I make myself walk to them :))
I have two lists on the paper - list 1 'Benefits of NOT smoking & list 2 Benefits of Smoking' - every time I get that crazy craving feeling, I'll go to that paper & pen and write an answer on both lists....
Picking up the pen helps that craving of wanting a cig in between those fingers & the writing keeps your mind occupied until the craving passes ...which is only a few seconds.
Belive me the benefits list can go on forever :) You write down anything, things you want to buy with the money you've saved, how you felt the day before without smoking... How ill you felt sometimes when you did smoke, the different moods you felt when you did smoke (depressed, outcasted, shame ..if you did feel any of these)
Good Luck, keep up the good work :)
