Struggling

Only starting day 4 of being a non smoker. Using patches and gum when I really feel like a smoke. Has anyone cut the patches in half to get more out of pack? I understand the recommended manufacture plan (nicabate) is to stay on strong patches for up to six weeks but to me this will just draw this thing out even longer. Today I'm just using half a patch.

I kind of don't feel like I've truly quit as long as I use patches or gum.

This is my first real attempt of quitting and I've smoked for just over 20years.

Any advise from people who have been in my position would be appreciated.

I'm kind of impressed I've made it this far but just the fact I'm writing this and reading others stories probably shows I'm struggling.

I ran out of patches at least until thursday this week. I don't know if it's ok to cut them in half depends how many you get per box and yes i'm 4 days into quitting as well. Certainly at this early point you don't want to run out of gum but keep up with the patches if you don't smoke at night then i'd take the patch off when you go to sleep becuase of severe nightmares that they cause. Good luck and keep at it

I am Day 21 and started on 25mg -16 hrs patch for 2 weeks ,they made me quite sick so went down to 15mg and feel quite good,I take it off after 12 hours. This seems to work for me.I want to get off them asap but everyone is different.I got told not to cut the patch in half by one Pharmacist and then another said it's fine.We all need to listen to our bodies and do what you think best after educated opinions.Good luck and we'll done.

I used patches and gum to get to my 215 days smoke free 😊 For me it was to be cigarette free then work on the nicotine addiction.I cut patches in half and didn't use them at night. I reduced using them over about 3mths and now I just use the odd lozenge. There are no rules, everyone's smoking and quitting journey is different so do whatever works for you . Good luck
