Trying My Best

This is Day 1. I've made it. Although I am using patches, I believe any day without tobacco is a good one. Right now, everything is a trigger. I can't go on my patio for a while. I always smoked there. I won't even open the blinds to look out at it. Eating is a trigger, but I keep mints in my purse, it helps as I was a menthol smoker. I've quit dozens of times before, but I'm hoping with my whole heart that after 40 years of smoking tobacco, I can finally beat this demon. Helpful tips and strategies are welcome.

Hi JustSayJules, I am right there with you. I am on my 4th day of not smoking. The triggers just nag at me. But I am so determined to have this not be a part of my life. Take each craving at a time, it helps me to be in this moment and overcome the temptation. I try so hard not to listen to that voice telling me to just give up. We can do this

I acknowledge the trigger, investigate how it makes me feel physically and mentally. Then I tell myself i can feel it but I still can't smoke. I also would drink a big glass of water
