How to cope with failed attempts

Posted in Getting started
schedule 1 May 2018

Perhaps I was over confident? I did quit quite easily for a couple of days so I have no idea why on day 3 I succumbed as there was no apparent trigger. I seem to have two people in my head and the other one (who I am going to call 'Saboteur' keeps doing this "Oh you can always quit tomorrow, Jellycake" thing. Anyway, I have set a new quit date for the weekend with the decks cleared again of all obligations and social events. I apologise once again to myself!

You too can escape this trap Jellycake

schedule 3 May 2018

If you'll allow me an observation, making "a new quit date for the weekend" is succumbing to "Saboteur" also. The right quitting mindset means starting NOW, not tomorrow or the weekend. I fooled myself into continuing smoking that way for at least 10 years.

If you're here, you're ready. You simply need to find your NOW - and mean it. Good luck :)

Jellycake........yes Stevo is right. If your serious of quitting then throw your ciggies, lighters and ashtrays away now....you cannot set dates....they just become broken New Year resolutions. Cheers
