no more cigars

I smoked my last cigar and quit at 2;10PM today. It is 3 days earlier than I had planned as a quit date, but I figured better now than later.I sucked that last one right down to the nubbin, until it was practically burning my fingers. The last few puffs tasted really horrible, more tar than anything. I spilled ash on my favourite sweater, but at least I didn't burn a hole in it. I have ruined several shirts in the past with hot ashes. I'm proud that I have quit and hope to report on continuing success tomorrow.

The fact that you jumped ahead on you quit date shows great motivation. And I HATED the whole thing for about 5 years before I quit...not to mention the fear. I hated the chest pains, lung pains, the stink, my weakness...the nighttime wheezing when I tried to sleep. Smoking took a toll on my clothes and things too.
I've been quit for 5 months now. And I LOVE it. The freedom from addiction is life-giving. Sure I miss it a bit. But almost never. and not now. Thinking about quitting was way harder than actually quitting. As someone on this site says quite a bit...you don't crave what you don't want.

Congratulations on beginning your quest for freedom. If you get cravings, turn them into waves of happiness because you don't have to smoke any longer. Be grateful to be free.
