day one

Exactly 24 hrs ago I became free from smoking. Not going to say it was an easy time. Had times when I thought I couldn't breath, no air. Wanted to just say forget it and light up, But read up that it is a symptom and it would pass. I believe in God, and last night I told Him, I will put this out, but you have to help me thru this...I have faith and trust that He will. That and lots of support from all of you :) Doing this cold turkey, no meds or aids to help. I will take this one step at a time.

I'm offering my cravings to God. He is my benifactor. He is a God of love and forgivness. He only wants good things for me.

Well done, I am on day 7 now but struggling (gone cold turkey). I have breathing difficulties not severe but annoying. It adds to the stress of stopping.

I had to give up also because of copd. Read a book I highly recommend and used the nicorette spray. Been just on 5 months for me.

Hey Hallibean we can offer support but you HHAVE TO WANT TO STOP.and you can ..I am on day 98 cold turkey and there are a lot of people who can offer advice that have beaten the bloody things for longer than me..deal with each craving ONE AT A TIME..it will pass..then deal with the next one..before you know it they lessen in frequency and strength and you are well on your way..doNOT reward yourself for your effort by saying "just one or just tonight" NO MATTER WHAT,FROM TODAY,NO MATTER WHAT...DON NOT PUT ANOTHER ONE IN YOUR MOUTH...NO MATTER WHAT..Good luck stray strong and come on this site regularly and read the success stories of people just like you and me who have succeeded or are well on their way.
