4th time Lucky

This is my 4th serious attempt to rid myself of the cigs - longest I have gone is 4 months. I love smoking! I'm 14 hours into day one, hopefully I can get to 48 hours without a cig, this is the toughest period from my experience. I'm posting here to create reverse pressure and hopefully build a story. My plan is to put all the money I save into British American Tobacco stock (£12 a pack in London). No way I could do cold turkey so I'm using the patches l, they seem to work for me. Adios for now!!

Hello IanH, good luck with your quest to escape the evil nicotine trap. Really, you enjoy smoking?

Hey Bro, I enjoy smoking but hate smoking :), I’m nearly at the 48 hour mark!! I have a good feeling this time. I have been having one or two drinks as well and seem to be coping better than last attempts! The apartment has never been so clean! One week mark next goal.

HI Ian,
I was in the same mind set as you for the first year and a bit of smoking. I thought I "would love a cigarette". I was using the willpower method of quitting and felt deprived the entire year I was quit. After reading, and understanding "Easy way to stop smoking" for the 3rd or 4th time, I was able to finally see that I didn't love smoking, it was an addiction that did nothing for me. It took so much from me and didn't even get me high.
Until I was able to look at smoking for what it really is and that it did and will do nothing for me, I was feeling I was depriving myself and continued to crave. I highly recommend listening to the audio version, reading the book or attending a seminar by the Alan Carr foundation for "Easy way to stop smoking". It completely changed my quit experience. It was like magic.

Thanks for the encouragement guys, it is much appreciated. Cruising through day 5!! Eating a lot of fruit and I personally find the Nicorette inhaler helpful when you get that urge. It is a pointless habit with no benefits - need to stay strong :)
