Is Champix Worth It

Hi All

I am ready to finally kick this filthy habit. I have tried many times each to a varying level of success, but this time it needs to be permanent.

I am looking at taking Champix and I have heard some fantastic success stories. I am a little worried about potential side effects and looking for information from anyone that has taken the drug to see how it worked for them and if it was a success.

I am now 19 days clear, thanks to Champix - started taking it on 7 February 2018 and had my last smoke on 28 February 2018. I was given a 3 month prescription by my GP but I only finished one, did not bother to take the other two, think I am doing well without it. My side effects were a slight tremor of the hands and heart burns. Took my last tablet of the first pack on 6 March 2018, but I am totally fine now no heart burns or tremor on hands. It is very good I surely recommend it however, you determine how long your body needs the tablets... 19 days now, I am breathing better, I do not smell, I taste my food, for the love of God I can even now smell my neighbors cooking.

Hi Awhereat. Champix worked for me as it did take away the cravings. I felt nauseated every morning but found that subsided. If you follow the instructions on the pack it tells you to have tablet on a full stomach so make sure you eat. You will work it out. That was my only side effect. I have had the tabs quite a few times on and off over the years but I guess I wasn't ready. My breathing deteriorated and I want to travel overseas again so I wanted healthier lungs for that reason - my mantra was: 'I want my life back' and it worked. I smoked for 40 years. I have been smoke free since the end of Nov last year. Best of luck and always pat yourself on the back for every little achievement because you deserve it!
