Champix

schedule 30 Mar 2018

Hello fellow quitters. Well I am back to square one and about to attempt to quit again. This time it will work with help from you all. I have today started taking Champix. My Doctor did not want to give them to me and I have tried them twice before and had bad experiences. As I am 'fragile depressive' these tablets could be bad for me. I have to see my Doctor every week and if I miss an appointment he will call the Police. He wasn't joking. I am hoping with your help and support I will get through this and be a quitter. So please feel free to talk to me about these tablets and if there is a way I can beat any reactions. I am taking the tablet with food as suggested and that should stop the nausea. Thanks friends.

schedule 2 Apr 2018

Hi,

I took champix in 2015 when I gave up smoking. At first I began getting sick 'some' mornings and it was only ever till lunch time. I exercised a lot and began building gardens/rockeries etc to keep active so was sleeping fine but had really odd dreams (not quite nightmares but close). After a few months I began feeling sick every morning and it was BAD. I couldn't leave the house. Being naughty I decided to only take half a tablet in the mornings, about 11am and always with a big breakfast (brunch). This worked great! I only began smoking again in August 2016 after I held my partner while he died.

I know a LOT of people who have tried Champix and had bad side effects but I noticed that ALL of them also drank alcohol while taking Champix. Myself and two other friends who didn't drink at all while on the tablets only suffered minor effects and short-term.

Good Luck and please please let your Doctor know if you have any other 'issues'. Have you seen Beyond Blue?

schedule 3 Apr 2018

This is my 5th day on Champix. 2nd day of 2 white tablets per day. Have been taking with food and so far all good. I picked the 13th as my quit day but I think I will be bringing it forward as the cigs have no taste now. See my Doctor tomorrow to let him know how I am going. All good. Thank you for your feedback as it is very important for me.
