Hi Every one , well this is day 1 . i have read all the stories and Steve was a real inspiration , he is over 400 days and he is still helping others in here . So i thought that is going to be me in 400 days i hope to be here helping others kicked this aweful habit.. cheers Lynne
Very true Im at 43 days today and I feel amazing compared to a month ago. Once you start to see all the negatives that smoking caused you to will decide to keep going. Eventually it will feel like you never smoked. Keep up the good work.
Hi Robn & Rise and grind ...thanks for your support ...I am really needing it at the moment ....its only been 8 hours and im sure that sounds silly to a lot of you but thats a long time for me . i have smoked now for 53 years ...so i am going to grab all of your support and hang on tight for the ride through this ...once again Thanks ...Lynne

Hi Lynne and welcome. Yes as Steve mentioned i did smoke for 52 yrs . I was 16yrs old when i started. Back then smoking was "macho". One day i was walking up a gradient road and the sudden onset of churning in my stomach and burning in my calf muscles made me realize something was wrong. Doctor told me that was onset of copd. I then said that is it ....."the fun is over" or i would eventually God forbid have to wear an oxygen mask. Lynne i encourage you to give them up as you must also be my age. Will be hard for first 90 days but then you will feel much, much better and the urges do subside.I am about 410 days quit now and walking up gradients does no longer not create churning in my stomach thank God. All the best and keep in touch. Cheers.
