Stay strong Pistol

Hi.. I am 64 and have been on again off again smoking most of my life but this time it has to be for good. My problem,as with many I'm sure, is that a beer in one hand and a cig give in the other has been the norm for so long. So I have to get rid of the beer as well... oh well that won't hurt either, my wife got off the cigs around seven years ago but still likes a drink....however we have Dry July coming up and have both decided to accept that huge challenge so that will be helpful I'm sure. Anyway no cigs for six days now with the weekend looming...that will be the test as my mates will be around ( I'm in a band) so it's gonna take some willpower... stay strong Pistol!

Hi Pistol. I must say I have had a half carton of Dunhill Blue plus half a pack of Davidoff Duty Free cigarettes in a cupboard for the past 25 months. And that works well for me as a past smoker of 46 years...Power to me as one day i will have to put them up for sale on EBay... LOL Not a temptation at all. Kind of like saying farewell to a friend who is no longer a real friend. Just keeping it at am's length. Wishing you well on your journey.

Hi.... still hanging in there.... I've decided that "dry July" is gonna help me in two ways.... and save a lot of money to go with it..... could be the best decision/s I've ever made.... thanks for your support guys

Hey Pistol,
Huge congratulations on both the cigs and the "Australian Dry July" campaign. I think it's awesome that you've taken up both challenges. Not every member here are Aussies so perhaps they don't know what "Dry July" means. Let your music be a distraction. Good luck!!!
