Smoker for 60 years stopped smoking cold turkey
Woke up this morning, the usual routine, make a coffee and straight away outside having a cigarette. Don't know why, just out of the blue I thought to myself I have been smoking for 21 years since I injured my back at work. Why did I ever start smoking when I was a non smoker for the first 29 years of my life!!! What a waste of health and money over these 21 years. A close relative smoked more than 60 years and decided to stop cold turkey. If he could do it anyone can. Never thought he would ever be able to stop smoking. He is my inspiration and proof that anyone can stop smoking. He looks and feels fantastic. TIME TO STOP IS NOW!!!!
Hi Danie1965. Having someone in your life who inspires you is a bonus. The advantage of posting on this site is that fellow quitters will become your new best virtual friends. They may help you save your life. They will understand you throughout your journey. Just do it and enjoy it the ride. Non smokers cannot possibly be a support group let alone understand.
Hi Daniel and welcome. Congrats on making the decision and taking the steps to quit. This is where it all begins. Stay focused, take each day at a time and keep posting and reading this site for any further inspiration and/or tips.
I smoked for over 30 years and have been smoke free for 13 months....I cant begin to tell you how awesome it feels to be free of the chains of smoking.
