Scared

Hi, this is day 1 for me and I have this overwhelming feeling of doom and feel like crying. I just realised I've never drunk alcoholic beverages without a cigarette: I'm using Champix and hope that will assist This is my first attempt of quitting in 30 years of smoking. I've usually had 5 cigs by this time.

Hi L
Yes it is scary. Hang in there. I'm on champix too and have just made 60 days and saved around 1600$. Just remember that nothing bad wii happen if you never smoke again, only good things. It gets easier every day. I was a pack a day for 35 years! Good luck :)

Ps don't stop the things you like, a drink can be relaxing. Well done for making a great decision for yourself.

Hi LPDS,
As jakki said you should not avoid situations where you wanna smoke. Go out drink, be around smokers. About the drinking part, yes this will be the hardest part of quitting.
As an ex smoker i can guarantee you one thing: You will start to enjoy your drinking even more without CIGARETTES.
I thought that i will never enjoy drinking without smoking but here i am now 1 year later,
not only that my coffee tastes better without smoking.
Give yourself credit for every passing day without smoking and never light another one!
Keep up the good work,

Thanks Red - I'm still going well ! If I had only known Champix was available would have quit sooner ! Strange how no one tells you - even ex smokers (in your friend circle) about quitting methods. But I guess at the end of the day it's your responsibility...looking forward to a smoke free life.
