Thankyou to all that have replyed, your warmth and kindness much appreciated, i have fallen off the wagon and disappointed with myself, but im determined to succeed

Hi Nobutts,
Please don't be hard on yourself. Some people can take a number of Quit attempts before they quit successfully. Cold turkey whilst definitely can be done, is hard going. I'm sure when you're ready and had the time to gather yourself again, you'll have another try.
Have you looked at all options available to you? Anyway, I'd like for you to know that I'll more than happy to support you through good and bad times.
Being hard on yourself isn't going to achieve anything. I know that's easier said than done though.

Another option, if you're from Australia, have you tried the Quitline? They are sensational.

Dear Kim
Thankyou so much, im in darwin, , i phoned quitline this arvo, i have found the stories on this site fantastic , i have purshased a nicorate puffer and plan to take to work tomorrow, i have so many reasons to stop, the cravings the last four days were like nothing i have experienced! !!! I have smoked a packed 25 a day for 20 year's, am 47, thankyou again for support, Ness

What wonderful news that you fell off the wagon but caught yourself so fast! You and I are similar....I am 48 and smoked 20+ years. You can do this. You deserve to feel better!

It is a very hard journey but the main thing is to keep trying and in the end if you want it so much you will win ....good luck

Hi Nobutts. Indecision is the killer. When I tried to quit in the past I always gave myself the option that if it got too bad I could always have a puff. This indecision is a real weakness and the main pain when trying to quit. If we fell of a boat we would keep swimming even though there was an option of giving up.
Consider icanquit as a lifeboat and we are all in here together. Dismiss any thought that it is safe to smoke again because it isn't. We are all here to help each other and as such posting and communicating is your life belt. Good luck

Great messsge dobbin. Definitely agree with it. It will make it hard when you look at it as a failure because we often give up if we believe we failed, try looking at it as a speed bump on your way to success. Each attempt to quit is one step closer and its better to try and stumble than not to try at all

Hi Ness,
Howzit going? Glad you rang the Quitline because they are the ones who helped set up a plan for me and so far it's worked. So combine that with this site and it's a great combo! Wow Darwin, how cool!! I'm in Melbourne.
Anyway, hope you reply back 😃
