2nd day free
It's been 2 days without a smoke. It's getting really difficult to deal with. I have cried a couple of times because I used to smoke at the pokies & with my own father out the back and knowing I won't be doing that anymore just hurts. I miss it so much but I have to try & get the thoughts of it out of my head. It's so hard....

Hi Rachel..
It is hard but try to remember you are giving up thru choice, give up now why you have the choice.don't wait till you have no choice.Breathing should not be painful...Good luck

Hi Rachel,
Have you given some thought to phoning Quitline? I found them so very helpful in the beginning. You can request for them to provide you with a call back service and of course, can ring them as many times as you need. They do spend the time with you to listen, they never trivialise how difficult it can be and they also offer options and motivation.
A combination of them and this site has helped me.
One thing I also found helpful was that when out and about, I'd look at the number of people sitting indoors at a cafe, restaurant and other social settings and it really woke me up to the fact that there are so many people these days not smoking as opposed to the ones that do smoke. At times I would observe people having a great time and doing so without smoking.
I chose to change my normal routine in the beginning and avoided placing myself in risky situations.
The rate at which cigarettes are going up in price is unbelievably high compared to other countries. Gosh you're so young and have your life ahead of you. Keep going with your great work!

Hi Rachel....you say you miss smoking like an old friend. I like to invite you to read the post placed by Des and maybe then you will not miss the old friend so much. You are at the crossroads and the choice is yours. Good luck.
